FRank lloyd Wright’s Teater’s Knoll private Home Tour + garden Picnic

Saturday, SEPTEMBER 9, 2023 | HAGERMAN, ID

Home tour #1: 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Home tour #2: 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

On September 9th, we will depart from downtown Hagerman and travel by shuttle to Teater’s Knoll in Bliss and then back to Hagerman. The private home tour will take approximately two hours in total.

It is a rare opportunity to visit the only Frank Lloyd Wright structure in Idaho tucked away in the Hagerman Valley above the Snake River in the small town of Bliss. The house was designed for Idaho artist Archie B. Teater and is thought to be the only artist studio Wright designed other than his own.

Join us for a private self-guided home tour with experienced docents on hand to answer questions. Food, wine, and beer will be served during both tours while you enjoy live music by Scot Oliver and the exceptional beauty of this private home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

Enjoy a special introduction by Henry Whiting II, the owner of the Frank Lloyd Wright studio, and learn about the history of the house and its owner.

Tickets are $125 per person (credit card processing fees apply). Click the links below to purchase your tickets today!

private home tour #1: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

private home tour #2: 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

NOTE: Tickets for this event will not be issued. Rather, your name(s) will be on a list at event check-in. The tour meeting location will start and end in downtown Hagerman, not in Bliss. Guests will be shuttled by bus from Hagerman to the home in Bliss. There is no parking at the event. The home does include some steps.

Additional details will be shared via email with ticket holders as event date approaches. The capacity will be limited. Get your tickets today.

Teater’s Knoll was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 and is one of the youngest buildings ever to be listed. The home was also featured in Preservation Idaho’s Idaho Modern “Modern Masters” series and was a winner of the Heritage Stewardship Orchid Award in 2016 for thoughtful preservation, stewardship, and preservation-sensitive new construction in ownership of Idaho's only Frank Lloyd Wright designed building.

Current owner Henry Whiting II has lived in this home for almost 40 years and has completed two major restorations on the structure. If you missed the home tour last year, you will see a recently completed Japanese style garden made from the same stone as the house. You don’t want to miss this opportunity!
