Ada County Office Building

WPA – 1937-38
Wayland & Fennell

Ada County Office Building, Boise

Originally only two stories, this structure was built to house the offices of Ada County during the demolition and reconstruction of the nearby courthouse. In 1948 it was sold to the City of Boise which used it for the City Hall until 1976. The police station on 6th Street was enlarged in approximately 1952 and remodeled again in 1984 to reflect the columns of the primary structure. The third floor addition to both buildings was constructed in 1991 for the significant Boise law firm of Givens Pursley LLP.

Features to Note

  • Stuccoed brick construction
  • Streamlined classical columns and capitals
  • Rosettes framing the entry
